Rebuilding a Porch Roof and Columns in Byrd Park

We recently completed rebuilding a porch roof and making column repairs on rosewood Avenue in Byrd Park.

First: the before photos

Once we get into demo, we can really see what's going on with this rot! 

Down it comes.

The columns were in need of more repair than we anticipated. Our shop is well equipped and our crew well skilled enough to handle this task,

After the repairs, we put them back up and braced them with 2x4's to be able to set the framing elements.

2x12 box beam

Cody and Jerrett started setting the 2x8 rafters.

We used fir to wrap the box beam.

Roof sheathing

2x10 Ceiling Joists.

Bead board roof back-primed primed and installed. We reinstalled the old railing.

Reclaimed Flooring Installed, and porch deck replacement: Small jobs for valued, long-time clients.

One thing about our work is once you go RBVA, you never go away! Most of our clients are very satisfied withour work and think of us when they need some repairs done to their home. Even if it is a smaller job, we like to help these folks out.

For example, these clients wanted their porch decking replaced (along with some other jobs, such as reclaimed wood floor install, etc.)

Fixed by sistering with new 2x8s.
